This week in Nursery it has been full of creativity, discovery, and self-expression! The children have been learning all about patterns - spotting them in everyday objects and creating their own in art, construction, and play. Using building blocks, magnets, and colourful shakers, they explored how to make shapes, repeating patterns and sequences, developing their early maths skills while having fun with rhythm, shape, and colour.
The children also spent time celebrating themselves and the people they love by creating wonderful ‘I Am’ posters. They chose and placed photos of themselves, decorated their posters with great independence, and added statements about the things they like, love, and don’t like, as well as their age. To build on this, the children made short vlog-style videos where they shared what makes them, their family, and their friends special. They even constructed houses from cardboard to display their drawings of family members, showing real pride in their creations and a growing understanding of belonging and identity.
