A very warm welcome to all our families, especially those joining us for the first time. We are thrilled to have you as part of our community and look forward to an exciting year of learning, growth, and fun together.

Early Years Campus Weekly Update 25 Aug 2025 - Early Years Campus Weekly Update 25 Aug 2025

The children have had a fantastic first week! They are settling beautifully into their new classrooms, exploring their environments, and beginning to build wonderful relationships with their teachers and new friends. It has been a joy to see their smiles and growing confidence each day.

Our Focus: A Strong and Happy Start

The beginning of any school year is so important in giving children the right start. Over these first few weeks, we focus on three key areas:

• Sense of Place – Helping children feel comfortable in their new environment, understand routines, and know where things are. This builds confidence and security.

• Sense of Belonging – Ensuring every child feels safe, cared for, and part of our school family. When children feel they belong, they are ready to learn and thrive.

• Sense of Ownership – Encouraging children to feel that this is their school, where they can make choices, take responsibility, and feel proud of their learning journey.

Every child is wonderfully unique, bringing their own experiences, interests, and personality to the classrooms. These first few weeks are a precious time for us to truly get to know each child—understanding what makes them feel happy, confident, safe and ready to learn—so we can provide the right support for their individual needs and help them thrive.

Settling Takes Time and Care

Over the next few weeks, your child may need a little extra reassurance as they adjust to their new class and routines. This is completely to be expected — their young minds and bodies are absorbing so much new information every day. They may also need additional rest to recharge and be ready for the day ahead.

By working together, we can help every child develop a strong sense of place, belonging, and ownership within our school community. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your class teacher—we are here to listen, support, and ensure that every child enjoys a confident and happy start to the year.

What’s Happening in Classrooms and Dates for the Diary:

• Year 1 children have launched into their first theme, “Super Duper You”, which celebrates each child’s uniqueness, interests, and what makes them special.

• Nursery children have been busy exploring their learning environment, both indoors and outdoors, and getting to know the adults who are there to help them every day in school.

• Reception children are growing in confidence every day as they settle into their new classrooms and routines. They’ve been busy making new friends, exploring every corner of the Reception environment, and letting their imaginations run wild—especially while creating amazing dens on our balcony.
