Hopes & Dreams: Building Connections for the Year Ahead at NISC
At Northbridge International School Cambodia (NISC), we believe that a strong school year begins with meaningful conversations. This week, our Early Learning and Primary teachers welcomed families for our annual Hopes & Dreams meetings—a cherished tradition that sets the tone for a year of growth, collaboration, and shared purpose.
More Than Academic Goals
These meetings go beyond setting targets in Reading, Maths, or other subjects. They’re about building connections—understanding what motivates each child, what families value most, and how teachers can support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
By sitting together and listening deeply, we begin the year with trust, mutual respect, and a shared vision for each learner’s journey.
A Parent’s Perspective
As a NISC parent myself, I found the Hopes & Dreams meeting incredibly valuable. It gave me a clearer picture of my child’s learning experience and reassured me about their day-to-day wellbeing. It was also a chance for both my child and I to share what matters most to us and what we hope to achieve this year.
I left the meeting feeling heard, supported, and confident that we are working together to help my child thrive. From conversations with other families and teachers, I know this feeling is shared across our community.
Living Our Values
These meetings are a powerful expression of our school’s values: Caring Hearts, Ambitious Minds. They remind us that our community is strongest when we work together—students, families, and educators united in purpose.
As we move forward into the school year, we carry with us the hopes, dreams, and connections formed in these early days. Together, we’re building a learning environment where every child can flourish.
