Carmen Johnson joined North Broward Prep as Director of Marketing and Admissions after working in higher education admissions for colleges and universities for 14 years.

Katie Chin joined North Broward Preparatory School as the Assistant Director of Admissions, bringing a strong background in higher education with expertise in student recruitment, event planning, and enrollment management.

Katie is a born and raised south Floridian. She attended the University of South Florida, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and minor in Psychology. Katie also obtained a Master of Science in College Student Affairs and Graduate Certificate in Advanced Conflict Resolution Analysis from Nova Southeastern University.
Most recently, Katie worked as the Director of Undergraduate Admissions at NSU Florida, where she led a team of admissions officers, oversaw freshman yield events and programming, and coordinated freshman scholarship interviews. Katie also served as a First Year Experience instructor, facilitating a safe and welcoming space for incoming students to build community, and make the transition from high school to college. She is passionate about guiding students and families through what can feel like an overwhelming process, helping them feel supported as they take such a big step towards their future.
In her free time, Katie enjoys traveling, stand-up comedy shows, Florida Panthers games and long walks with her rescue dog, Grover.
Geena Capitini joined North Broward Preparatory School as the Assistant Director of Boarding Admissions, bringing a dynamic background in collegiate athletics and higher education admissions, with expertise in student recruitment, relationship building, and program development.

Sarahfina LoFaso joined North Broward Preparatory School as an Admissions Officer, bringing four years of experience in higher education with admissions recruitment, marketing and counselor programs.

Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Sarahfina obtained her Bachelor's in Communications and Media Studies from Adelphi University, followed by her Master's in English from Southern New Hampshire University.
After relocating to South Florida, Sarahfina began her career in higher education as an Assistant Director of Admissions at Nova Southeastern University. In her time there, she had the pleasure of guiding students and families through the admissions process. She was involved in organizing counselor programs, traveling for recruitment events, and supporting the school’s marketing efforts—all of which gave her a well-rounded understanding of how to connect with students and share a school’s story in meaningful ways. She also taught as an adjunct professor, an experience that deepened her enthusiasm for education and student development. It reignited her love for writing as well, which remains a creative outlet and personal passion.
In her free time, Sarahfina enjoys traveling, pilates and spending time with her friends and family.
Jonathan Yance serves as an Admissions Officer at North Broward Preparatory School, bringing a strong foundation in student engagement, enrollment strategy, and educational outreach. His commitment to fostering meaningful connections with families and guiding students through their academic journey is central to his role.

Born in New Jersey and raised in Broward County FL, Jonathan pursued his education at Broward College, earning a degree in Supervision and Management before obtaining his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. His academic background, combined with a passion for helping students find the right educational fit, led him to a career in admissions.
Prior to joining North Broward Preparatory School, Jonathan worked as the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Nova Southeastern University where he focused on enrollment management and building meaningful relationships with students and families. He is known for his approachable demeanor, attention to detail, and dedication to creating a welcoming admissions experience for all prospective families.
Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys traveling the world, playing pickleball and spending time with his wife and 3 children.
Nelida (Nely) Henderson joined North Broward Preparatory School as the Admissions Visit Coordinator, bringing extensive experience in education, student support, and family engagement. In her role, she coordinates campus visits, ensuring that prospective families enjoy a welcoming, personalized visit experience that highlights the value of an NBPS education.

Born and raised in Connecticut, Kacie moved to Florida where she attended Nova Southeastern University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management and minor in Marketing. Kacie also obtained a Certificate in Human Resource Management from Florida Atlantic University.
Most recently, Kacie worked as the Coordinator of Marketing, Promotions, and Revenue Generation for NSU Athletics, where she led marketing, ticketing, and community engagement efforts while co-advising the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Kacie has also served as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Conine All-Star Golf Classic, supporting the Conine Clubhouse at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. She is passionate about creating positive and memorable experiences for students and the local community.
In her free time, Kacie enjoys going to the beach, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and her cat, Roman.
Alexis Barone joined North Broward Preparatory School as the Communication Manager, bringing a strong background in higher education with experience in recruitment, prospective student engagement, and strategic communication across social media and mass communication platforms.

Yes, NBPS offers need-based financial aid.
Financial aid is a separate application through Clarity and should be completed in conjunction with the admission application. Financial aid is awarded based on a number of factors, including your family’s demonstrated financial need, your academic profile, and the availability of funding. The financial aid application has no bearing on an acceptance decision.
Families who have begun the process for U.S. Permanent Resident Status should wait until that status has been granted before beginning the application process.
